Transmission of interpretation via newest infrared technology

NUNTIO uses interpretation booths based on the newest infrared technology for simultaneous interpreting.

The original sound of the speaker is fed into the central control unit, the interpreters have headsets enabling them to listen to the speakers, which enables them to simultaneously interpret via their intergrated microphones. Every participants who wants to listen to the interpretation has a receiver, i.e. headphones with a receiver unit for the infrared signal of the interpretation system. The receivers are equipped with channel and volume control key pads enabling the participants to receive serveral language channels.

Interpreter Console

The interpreter console is one element of the basic equipment of an interpreting booth. The interpreters can choose the language into which they are interpreting. The cough button interrupts the transmission for a moment enabling the interpreter to clear his/her troat or to cough. The console also has a volume control and a relays channel, enabling the interpreters to listen to the interpretation of another booth.

Headset

The interpreters work with headsets - headphones with an integrated microphone connect to the console. This headset enables the interpreter to listen to the speaker and interpret simultaneously into the microphone which is fixed to the headphones. Thus the microphone is always kept at the same distance from the mouth of the interpreter being vital to the sound quality. The more lightweight the headset the more comfortable for the interpreters.

Interpreter control system

The control system is the most important element of an interpretation system. It is the heart of all technical equipment regarding interpreting.

Infrared Radiator

Infrared radiators transmit the interpreting signal via newest technology, i.e. wirelessly. An intererence-free transmission can only be guaranteed if there are enough infrared radiators in the room.

Our technician advises you in how many languages are interpreted and what kind of light there is in the room, since direct sun light may interfere with the transmission.

Receivers

Every participant of a conference is handed out a receiver and headphones in order to be able to listen to the presentations and speeches, etc. in his or her mother tongue. The receivers are equipped with channel and volume control key pads for choosing the right language.
