Professional interpreters

Since the professional 'interpreter' is legally not bound to a mandatory special training or to university studies in Austria, experience and adequate training is especially important for the quality of the interpretation.

NUNTIO only assigns professional and experienced interpreters who have been part of our long-term partner's network for many years. They are all professionally trained, excellent interpreters and have specialised in different fields.

The number and composition of interpreting teams is determinded by:

number of target languages
duration of the event
complexity of the topic

How many interpreters per team?

Professional interpreters always work in teams of at least two per language combination.

For conferences with many technical or scientific presentations and speeches or extra hours we recommend to budget a third interpreter per team in order to enscure constant hight-level quality.

Professional, experienced interpreters usually are booked well in advance, thus we recommend to book the required teams of interpreters as early as possible.

Types of interpreting

Simulanteous interpreting

The interpreters simultaneously transmit the speech or presentation into the respective target language via a microphone connected to the interpretation system. This type of interpreting requires a very hight level of concentration and the necessary experience.

Consecutive interpreting

The interpreters note down the presentation or speech. The speakers pauses every approx. 5 min. and the interpreter transmits it into the resective target language. Consecutive interpreting is suitable for meeting of smaller groups with max. two to three languages.

Whispering

The interpreter simultaneously whispers the interpretation into the ears' of max. two listeners. Whispering is very exhausting for both, the interpreter and the listener(s).

A very handy alternative is a tour guide or infoport system. A tour guide is the best solution for mobile interpreting, only a few languages and shorter periods of interpretation.

A tour guide comprises a microphone, a pocket transmitter and receivers. If necessary, several tour guides can be used at the same time. The receivers are equipped with channel and volume control and headphones.
