1) How many interpreting booths do I need?

Basically you need as many booths as you want languages to be interpreted into (target language).

If the language of your conference is e.g. English and you want it to be interpreted into two languages, then you need two booths.

2) How many space do I need for an interpreting booth?

You need 2x2m for an interpreting booth, the opening to the doors takes uo about an addition 0,5m. The door can be installed either at one of the lateral sides of the booth or on the back. Next to the booth you need about 80x80cm for the interpreting system.

3) Position of an interpreting booth in the room

Between the interpreting booth and the last row of chairs you need about 1m space. It is very important that the interpreters in the booth are able to see the speaker(s) and the stage. The interpreting booths can also be installed outside of the room, i.e. there needs to be a live broadcasting of the conference, etc. via a camera in the room and screens in the booths.

4) Installation of an interpretin booth

An interpretation system with 1 to 2 interpreting booths is installed in about two hours depening on the accessibility of the room(s) (lift/elevater, access possibilty, parking possibility). Every additional interpreting booth needs an additional hour.

5) How are the receivers distributed?

The most efficient way of distributing the receivers is to put one on each chair or to give them out at the entrance at bigger events. For events or conferences with more than 100 participants we recommend to employ a hostess who we can organise to you.

6) Do I need an additioanl PA or sound system?

Yes, since the language signal needs to be transmitted into the interpreting booth(s) for the interpreters. A conference or event with more than 30 to 40 participants needs an adequate PA system for teh audience which we gladly advice you on.

7) Which connections are needed?

The usual electrical connections (230 Volt) are sufficient, NUNTIO, your specialist in audio visual systems, conference and interpretation systems, takes care of everthing else.

8) How many interpreters per team?

Professional interpreters always work in teams of at least two per language combination. For conferences with many technical or scientific presentations and speeches or extra hours we recommend to budget a third interpreter per team in order to ensure constant high-level quality.

Professional, experienced interpreters usually are booked well in advance, thus we recommend to book the required teams of interpreters as early as possible.

9) Will there be a technician taking care of the interpretation systems?

Yes. An experienced conference technician is in charge of the interpretation system during the whole conference. He supervises the installation of the interpretation systems and takes care that your conference runs smoothly and flawlessly. On request he also records the conference or the event.

10) Which information is needed for a quotation?

We need the following data for a quotation:

  • venue
  • duration
  • number of target languages
  • which languages
  • number of participants
  • is there a PA system (sum signal to XLR) at the venue. NUNTIO gladly clarifies that for you with the venue manger.

11) Cost for interpreters

We happily send you a free-of-charge-quotation. We would need some information, however, on how many languages your conference should be interpreted into and for how many days the conference will last.
